Elon Musk spearheaded the unveiling of the Tesla Cybertruck recently. The launch of the lone automotive wonder singlehandedly eclipsed the whole LA Auto Show a week ago. The latest electric pickup truck from Tesla will start its production in 2021, and other brands in the automotive industry are reportedly preparing to challenge the uniquely designed electric truck from Tesla.

On top of the list is the pickup truck from the startup Rivian dubbed as the Rivian R1T. The upcoming truck is designed for the outdoor-loving types. Ford and Amazon both invested in the startup company to produce the Rivian R1T truck.

Another contender in the pickup segment that will challenge Tesla Cybertruck is the Bollinger B2. The truck has a brick shape design that comes with a six-figure asking price. It is equipped with hydropneumatic suspension, a flip-down rear cabin wall, and detachable seats for a full bed to cab access. Its range is pegged around 200 miles.

Ford F-150 is another pickup releasing in 2021 and is up to challenge the Tesla Cybertruck. This is going to be the new generation of F-150 truck as the current generation is inching to the end of its life cycle. Ford assured the public that the next Ford F-150 would be available in hybrid and all-electric variants.

General Motors is also releasing an all-electric truck in 2021. GM's CEO Mary Barra announced on the same day of Tesla Cybertruck unveiling that the next all-electric truck from GM would be available in the showroom sometime in the fall of 2021. The unnamed all-electric truck will be the first in a line of electric SUVs and trucks from General Motors.

Finally, joining the list of contenders in the electric pickup segment is the Lordstown Endurance. This is the same model that caught US President trump's attention last year. While the details about this Tesla Cybertruck contender are scarce, we learned that it promises 260 miles of range and a retail base price of around $52,000.
