Kate Middleton has recently been named by Queen Elizabeth as the new royal patron of the charity organization Family Action. Founded in 1869, the Duchess of Cambridge is taking over for Her Majesty who worked with organization for 65 years.
As the royal patron of Family Action, Kate will seek support to address the issues of disadvantaged families and children in aspects like financial insecurity, social well-being, parenting challenges, substance and abuse problems, mental and emotional health. Prince William's wife will work with the organization to improve the lives of vulnerable families and their kids.
To mark her official patronage, Kate was at the Peterley Manor Farm in Buckinghamshire to join families supported by the charity for its Christmas preparations. The Duchess of Cambridge shared photos on Instagram of the activities she did with the children.
This, however, was not the first time Kate worked with Family Action. In January 2019, she already visited the center when it launched its support hotline and she also participated in the Chelsea Flower Show last May for Family Action's Mosters Garden.
During her first visit to the center, Kate said that every family experience similar struggles. In the early days after the baby is born, moms get plenty of support but after this it's up to the parents to find resources on how to raise a child well.
David Holmes, the chief executive of the organization, said that he saw first-hand how the Duchess of Cambridge has such a passion for helping disadvantage families. He also stated that her leadership is impressive, especially when it comes to the plight of the children.
Family Action also focuses on the formative years of children. Holmes said that Kate has a very clear understanding of how vital the early years are for the kids. The group also provides school breakfast programs for at least 300,000 school children every year.
Fans of the Cambridge royals were also impressed with the new role that Queen Elizabeth assigned to Prince William's wife. According to reports, royal followers cannot help but say that this job fitted Kate perfectly as the future Queen of England. The new job is also closely in line with the duchess' other advocacies on children and mental health.
To be named as the patron of Family Action is also a huge honor. Queen Elizabeth took over this role from her grandmother, Queen Mary, when she was just learning the ropes as a future monarch.
