Christian Pulisic will reportedly have to fight his way to keep his place in Chelsea's starting XI. Reports claim that the American attacking midfielder might have a hard time retaining his position in the club if Frank Lampard could pull off a massive club-record breaking budget to acquire Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho. Lampard's transfer plan will reportedly affect Pulisic's career at Stamford Bridge.

During the summer transfer window, Frank Lampard was unable to sign new deals because of a transfer ban imposed by FIFA. That restriction, however, has already been lifted following Chelsea's successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Blues could join the transfer market in Jan. 2019 and has been linked with a move for Sancho, who has shared his eagerness to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

The Blues are prepared to pay a staggering amount of £100 million just to ink a deal with the English footballer from Borussia, reports Daily Mail. Frank Lampard's plan is to let Jadon Sancho and his friend Callum Hudson-Odoi spearhead the attack side of Chelsea in the coming year with Timmy Abraham assigned in the middle. But, Lampard's plan could mean that there would no space left for Christian Pulisic in the starting XI.

It can be recalled that Christian Pulisic also lost his spot at Borussia Dortmund because of Sancho. According to reports, the 19 years old English winger is a Chelsea fan and is really interested in moving to Stamford Bridge. With Sancho on the attacking lead, Christian Pulisic would act as his support instead of being the main star of the club.

Chelsea's recent defeat to Everton was rumored to be the trigger that would let Lampard act on his transfer plan. However, according to the Chelsea coach, it is not yet time. Christian Pulisic has impressively showcased his form at the end of Oct. and in the early part of Nov, where he made five goals in just three appearances.

However, in his last four outings, the American attacking midfielder failed to score any goals. Last Saturday, during Chelsea's match with Everton, Christian Pulisic seemed to have a terrible day. While he has shown an exciting career at Lampard's side, the American winger struggled to make an impact for the club as the Blues succumb to a disappointing defeat to Everton. With Sansho's imminent arrival at the club, Pulisic's career is at risk.
