Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been away from the spotlight for a few weeks now. But it appears that the Duchess of Sussex has been actively working behind the scenes to give a boost of their forthcoming charity foundation.
Reports indicate that the royal couple is currently in the U.S. While they are on Meghan's home country, the Suits alum is allegedly gathering her friends in Los Angeles for a cause.
The Telegraph cited sources as saying Meghan has been busy gathering her contacts in Hollywood to give Sussex Royal Foundation a headstart in the U.S. Insiders also confirmed that Meghan had met with her former publicist and a partner at celebrity PR firm Sunshine Sachs, Keleigh Thomas Morgan. Reports have it that the former actress also insisted on "taking the reins" and keeping complete creative control of the foundation's launch.
Another insider told the publication that Meghan has wanted to create an international charity that will change the lives of people. Now that she has the platform and a royal profile at her disposal, the Duchess of Sussex is determined to create one of the biggest and most successful philanthropic organizations in the world.
"She sees this foundation as one of the key factors in creating a legacy as a new royal and Harry is right behind her," the source said.
It can be recalled that in mid-June, Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are leaving the Royal Foundation, the charitable organization that they have shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton. Princess Diana's sons, William and Harry, established the Royal Foundation in 2009.
Instead, Harry and Meghan plan to start their charitable foundation, called Sussex Royal Foundation. The charity trust is expected to officially launch in 2020.
The Sussexes could be teasing their social media followers on what is about to go down in 2020. Though they are on official break from their royal responsibilities, it can be noticed that Harry and Meghan have been regularly updating their Sussex Royal Instagram account with throwback photos of their charity works. The couple is putting the spotlight of each charity organizations and initiatives that they supported this year.
Harry and Meghan will be skipping Queen Elizabeth II's hosting of Christmas at Sandringham this year. Instead, the royal couple will be spending their first Christmas as a family with the Duchess' mother, Dorian Ragland. The Sussexes is expected to return to their official duties in the New Year.
