Is Meghan Markle as problematic as the press makes her to be or is the press treating her differently than her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton? A group of fans think that there's a bias against the Duchess of Sussex.

Royal fans discussing about the differences in the media treatment between Meghan and Kate are vocal about their observations. One fan named Gina McGalliard cited on Twitter that Meghan has been "so unfairly vilified" while Kate's image has been elevated to someone who cannot step in the wrong foot.

Another royal fan agreed with the first observation. The Twitter user said that this is happening because the press sees Meghan's color and never as a human being. Another fan said that Meghan's heritage might be black she's not a slave. She accomplished a lot of things in her life even before she met Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex apparently commented on the media's different treatment of her than her sister-in-law. An insider told Us Weekly that Kate might have set up such high standards but the British public is holding up the same standards as Meghan when their roles in the royal family are vastly different.

Meanwhile, sources close to Meghan and Kate said that the duchesses actually struggle with the fabricated rivalry that apparently exist between them. The source reiterated that there isn't any antagonism between the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge even as their husbands, Prince Harry and Prince William, might be competitive.

Meghan and Kate might have contrasting opinions about different things yet they also recognize that they have different paths, different lives and different roles in the royal family that jealousy can never rear its ugly head between them. The Duchess of Sussex is especially aware that Kate will one day become the Queen of England. The Duchess of Cambridge, on the other hand, never sees Meghan as a threat and both women are mature to realize these differences.

Amid their different roles, however, Meghan and Kate apparently found a common ground in the way they put family and their children first. However, between the Sussexes and the Cambridges, it's Meghan and Prince Harry who can decide to ditch royal protocols or forge a different kind of public life.  On the other hand, Kate and Prince William need to toe the line between their public duties and private lives as the Duke of Cambridge is the heir to the throne.
