Michelle Obama is not in the Democratic's list of aspiring presidents but many netizens think she has all it takes to run for office. The public's view seems to coincide with what former President Barack Obama has in mind: to have female world leaders in the future.

The former First Lady has been praised on social media because of her recent work to empower young girls across Asia and encourage them to pursue their dreams. Many continue to call Mrs. Obama "FLOTUS" even though her role at the White House ended years ago and some even urged her to run for office.

The Obamas traveled to Asia recently as part of their Obama Foundation conference tour. Since leaving the White House, the former First Couple has set up a foundation that will mentor young leaders around the world.

In their visit to Asia, Michelle sat down with Vietnamese-American actress/dancer Lana Condor and some of the Obama leaders to learn more about their work in empowering girls in Asia. Barack Obama's wife said these young leaders are working together to remove the barriers that prevent girls from pursuing their dreams.

Mrs. Obama shared on social media some photos from the conference. She was seen in the snaps hugging young girls at the event. Michelle's Instagram post was flooded with praise.

Many expressed their admiration to Michelle and praised her for her continued hard work as well as for inspiring women across the globe. One said even the small things that the former FLOTUS made makes a big difference. Some also urged Michelle to run for President of the US while others continue to call her "FLOTUS."

"Keep doing good in the world FLOTUS!" one tweeted. Another wrote, "We miss you as First Lady every day."

There were also social media users who compared Mrs. Obama's work on First Lady Melania Trump's "Be Best" campaign. The comparison was highlighted as Michelle recently stood for climate change activist Greta Thunberg against President Donald Trump's attack when she was named Time Magazine's 2019 Person of the Year. Netizens questioned "Be Best" campaign and criticized Melania for failing to defend Thunberg from her husband's bullying.

Meanwhile, some netizens' clamor for Michelle to run for the White House seems to coincide with what former President Barack Obama has been thinking. During a speaking engagement in Singapore, Obama sparked a debate after saying that the world would be in a better place if it will be ruled by female leaders.

According to BBC, the former US president said women aren't perfect but are "indisputably better" than men. He added that most of the problems in the world are caused by old people, mostly men, who are holding onto positions of power.
