Manchester United is confident of agreeing to ink a deal of £76million to sign Erling Haaland next month before loaning him back to RB Salzburg until the end of the season. United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made the 19 years old prodigy his top priority and is reportedly desperate to beet off other rival clubs, also eyeing to sign Haaland. However, recent reports claimed that the Norwegian striker has some demands before moving to Old Trafford, which includes a massive wage increase and assurances for the future of Solskjaer at the club.
Norwegian striker Erling Haaland is close to agreeing a move to Old Trafford on the condition that RB Salzburg could keep him for the rest of the season. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring in the young striker in January to help boost the club's battle for a top-four finish. However, RB Salzburg is reportedly insisting it will only make a deal if the club could keep Haaland for the remainder of the season, reports The Sun.
Erling Haaland joined RB Salzburg from Molde in 2018 and signed a €1 million per year contract with the club. But his value skyrocketed after securing 28 goals in 22 games for the Austrian team across all competitions. With Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United currently the top clubs interested in signing the 19 years old striker, Haaland has allegedly increased his demands claims German newspaper Bild.
Haaland is now reportedly asking for at least €8 million per year, but RB Leipzig would not want to go beyond €5 million per year for the young striker. If the claims are true, Haaland's wage would be around £130k each week, making him one of the highest earners of Manchester United. This seems to suit the top clubs eyeing Haaland like Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United, which have the financial prowess to spend that much on the teenager who is still untested in major European leagues despite hi success in Champions League, says Mirror.
In addition to an increased wage demand and getting to play for RB Salzburg until the season ends, Haaland is also reportedly demanding that Manchester United will give him assurances over the future at the club of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian coach was Haaland's former coach at Molde and allegedly one of the most significant factors for the 19 years old striker's move to Old Trafford. Haaland is reportedly concerned that Solskjaer could face the sack if the results do not pan out positively for the club.
