In November, Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that Paul Pogba is getting better and preparing for his return to action. But, several sites report today that the French midfielder's much-awaited return is on hold because he fell ill. He was given permission to attend his brother's wedding in France last Friday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to have the French midfielder available in time to play over the Christmas period following his almost three months break because of an ankle injury, reports BBC. However, it seems that it is doubtful given the recent setback. The Manchester United boss shared the bad news after confirming that Paul Pogba will not play in the Carabao Cup's quarter-final on Wednesday where the Red Devils are scheduled to face Colchester at Old Trafford.

'Of all things he's been struck down ill now,' said the Manchester United coach.
'He's been off for two or three days - three days probably - so that's not beneficial. That's probably set him back quite a bit.
'As I've said so many times, Paul's a top player that we want to see him playing his best football at Man United. We just need to get him fit and match fit.
'It might be half an hour, 45, 60, 90 minutes in the first game, who knows? We're working hard to get him back, but now he's ill.'
However, Sports Mail finds the update on Paul Pogba' mystifying considering that Pogba and his family posted footage of the French midfielder dancing and having fun at his brother's wedding in Bussy-Saint-Georges in the outskirts of Paris just a few days ago. Pogba was also pictured walking his dogs near his home in Cheshire on Monday following his return from France, the report claims. The latest setback on his comeback is probably going to raise more eyebrows over his rehabilitation after he shared a video showing him playing basketball with the Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler a few weeks earlier.
In the past months, Paul Pogba spent time on rehabilitation and on getting his form back in Florida and Dubai. However, given the recent report on his health, he might not be able to play for Manchester United again until 2020. Last week, Sports Mail revealed that Manchester United is willing to let Paul Pogba go in the summer and plans to sign a deal with a couple of midfielders before the next season starts. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will rotate United's squad to face the League Two underdog Colchester.
