Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly aboard a private jet flying to Nice, France when the unexpected happened. Their plane was apparently within 10 feet away from a mid-air crash due to an illegal drone.

According to Mirror, in the midday on Aug. 26, a NetJets Bombardier flying from Luton Airport to Nice, France was 4,000 ft above the ground when a drone flew four times higher than its allowed height in the airspace. The drone allegedly nearly collided with the aircraft, which is often rented to fly out celebrities and royals just like Prince Harry and Meghan.

The names of the passenger aboard the private jet were not released though the incident was allegedly reported. Prince Harry and Meghan were heading to Nice that week with their son Archie Harrison and they flew NetJets.

A former BA pilot Terry Tozer said that the collision would have caused serious damages, including killing or incapacitating the pilot. According to The Sun, the owner of the drone is being traced but the authorities are struggling to identify who flew the device illegally close to an airport airspace. Drone owners need to register in the U.K. but it would still be difficult to slap appropriate penalties if the drone cannot be found.

In 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan also had a plane incident aboard a Qantas jet that took them to Sydney. According to Birmingham Live, the plane's landing was aborted due to another slower aircraft, which was a little too close to the chartered plane.

Other passengers flying with Prince Harry and Meghan were apparently nervous and concerned when the plane suddenly pulled up back to the sky after it was supposed to touch land. Eventually, the plane circled and made a second attempt to land with much success even as the incident caused a bit of a delay. A witness said that even Prince Harry was nodding as the rest of the passengers clapped for the pilots.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to fly again after their holiday in the U.S. The palace has not announced when Prince Harry and Meghan should be back in London but it is understood that they will be in the States until Christmas.

The Sussex couple has been in America since Thanksgiving so their son Archie Harrison can celebrate his first holidays with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. It is believed that Prince Harry and Meghan are staying in Los Angeles during their U.S. trip.
