Legacies season 2 episode 9 is arriving on The CW within a few weeks and there would be a lot of surprises once the series returns on the small screen. One of the biggest stories within this episode is that it would feature the return of the Necromancer.
In the synopsis of Legacies season 2 episode 9, the Necromancer returns and ready to wreak havoc. He is planning to get revenge on Malivore, but he soon realized that he is now a human and powerless. The Necromancer isn't the same as he once was, so it would be hard for him to defeat Malivore.
Ha wants to get revenge, but he no longer has any powers. Considering the Necromancer's current situation in Legacies season 2 episode 9, it would be difficult for him to battle against Malivore. The character is a witch and world-renowned necromancer before, making people tremble.
However, his legacy has been essentially reduced to barely a footnote for a brand of sorcery when Malivore erased him. The Necromancer possessed all the standard abilities of a witch, but he has a unique power wherein he can see, summon, communicate with, and raise the dead.
Aside from the return of the Necromancer, there are also other interesting happenings in Legacies season 2 episode 9. Landon and Alaric, for instance, will be working together in this episode. Alaric enlists Landon's help to find out whether or not Sebastian is a threat to the school.
Moreover, there's still drama between Hope and Josie in the upcoming episode. Hope is trying to help Josie learn more about the mora miserium, and she's doing this to mend fences with the latter. Their relationship is yet to be explored this season, as Hope revealed she once had a crush on Josie.
Danielle Rose Russell, who plays Hope, previously discussed her character's recent confession to Josie. She said she wasn't surprised about this, but it's just "weird" timing. The actress admitted she knew Hope was sexually fluid and the revelation didn't really shock her.
In the first season, Josie also revealed she had a crush on Hope. It looks like the latter returned this affection this season. But while the possibility for a relationship is very likely, Russell noted "Hope is practically Josie and Lizzie's other sister" as of the moment.
Legacies season 2 episode 9 will air on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, on The CW. The episode is directed by Carl Seaton and written by Hannah Rosner and Thomas Brandon.
