American actress Lori Loughlin is reportedly scrambling to learn survival techniques in preparation for prison. The Full House star is rumored to be trying to learn martial arts so she can defend herself when she gets sentenced to jail.

Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, could face for up to 20 years behind bars if found guilty of their alleged role in the college admission cheating scandal. The couple is being accused of paying half a million dollars to help get their daughters admitted into the University of Southern California.

Loughlin, 55, and Giannulli, 56, are now facing charges of bribery, fraud, and money laundering. Their children have since dropped out of college.

The National Enquirer cited an insider who claimed Lori knows that her celebrity status would make her a target in jail. She allegedly wants to be prepared in defending herself hence she is reportedly learning martial arts. The source added that Lori has been getting some tips from jailbirds on how to act behind bars.

"Lori is realizing that her time may be running out. She doesn't want to be unprepared," the source said.

Gossip Cop checked in with its source close to the actress and confirmed that the rumors about Lori's alleged survival preparations are all made up. The outlet also pointed out that the National Enquirer's story doesn't make sense since Loughlin has maintained her innocence when she pleaded not guilty to every charge against her.

The actress and her husband pleaded not guilty in April to charges of conspiracy to commit fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Last month, they also pleaded not guilty to a bribery charge.

Moreover, the trial of Lori's case hasn't started yet and her defense team is working hard for her to avoid prison. Gossip Cop pointed out that it is senseless to prepare for prison when she hasn't been convicted yet.

The site also noted that if ever Loughlin does to prison, she will not be with violent offenders. Most likely, she will join individuals who were accused of white-collar crimes and non-violent offenses like those Felicity Huffman had mingled with in prison earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the defense attorneys for Loughlin and Giannulli filed a new motion couple weeks ago claiming that the spouses did not know their money was being used to bribe USC official Donna Heinel as the federal prosecutors have claimed. The motion added that the government seems to be hiding evidence that would help the couple's defense.
