Sony recently updated its official website with a teaser for the CES 2020 press conference, which will happen on Jan 6, 2020. The website now features the slogan, "The Future is Coming." The latest teaser triggered interests from fans, which some claims that it is hinting about the PlayStation 5 or its big reveal happening in the event.
It isn't easy for fans not to think that the text on the Japanese console maker's website is about the grand launch of its next-generation gaming console, the PlayStation 5. CES 2020 is one of the major tech and electronics events of the year, making it an ideal venue to unveil the much-awaited gaming console officially. The question is, will Sony make it happen at the event?
In addition to the text "The Future is Coming," there are other words written on the website. It reads, "At CES 2020 Sony is unveiling a unique vision of the future, bringing creativity and technology together like never before, to unleash new sensations and emotions." The Consumer Electronics Show is a long-running event where Sony generally showcases its other products, but not PlayStation, according to Push Square.
The company traditionally holds a brief press conference that flaunts the electronics products of the company like TVs and phones, along with the prototype technology that is currently developed behind closed doors, the site adds. If we based on Sony'sSony's pattern of showcasing its products, the CES 2020 has very little to do with the big unveiling of the PlayStation 5. However, the PlayStation 5 is coming in the holiday of 2020, which could also mean CES 2020 could be different.
Sony reveals on its official website that the press conference at the CES 2020 would be live-streamed. It will start at 5 PM PST on Jan 6, 2020, or 1 AM Jan 7, 2020, in the UK. Given Sony'sSony's history, it is hard to say that the big unveiling of the PlayStation 5 is happening at the CES 2020.
However, considering the company's different approach in regards to the PlayStation 5 could also mean another thing. Earlier this year, Sony Interactive Entertainment executives have been giving details about the PlayStation 5. A few months later, Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan, announced, through a statement that the much-awaited next-generation gaming console of the company is coming sometime in the holiday of 2020.
The CES 2020 is just a few days away, and while it is a short time, leakers and tipsters will share more details about the event between now and Jan 6, 2020.
