Full-fledged ARMYs would identify each of the BTS members from afar and even in the dark. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook also have distinctive styles that fans instantly know who is who.
Unfortunately for most of the media, they don’t have that superpower like the ARMYs. Despite taking hundreds — and possibly thousands — of photographs of BTS for almost a decade, they still get confused with the members at times.
The recent media mishap was when a publication wrote an article about Jimin, but they posted a picture of Suga instead. In their defense, these two are the easiest pair to mix-up especially when they’re wearing a mask.
The error happened during one of BTS’ airport moments. On December 3, Suga switched up his usual airport fashion, which consists of a bucket hat and a baggy shirt, and wore a newsboy cap and slim fit ensemble, which Jimin is normally known for.
Both of them were also wearing masks and had blonde hair. Suga and Jimin also have similar height and body frame, which made everything even more confusing for the media.
Now, Suga and Jimin took things to the next level and exerted more effort to trick the media with their airport fashion. On December 30, BTS arrived at the airport to depart to New York to return to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest to kick-off 2020.
Instead of just Suga looking like Jimin, this time, Jimin wore something that made him look like Suga. Just like the previous airport mishap, Suga decided to wear a slim fit outfit and a newsboy cap. Jimin, on the other hand, wore baggy clothes and a bucket hat.
If Suga and Jimin did this on purpose, their trick didn’t only work for the media as even ARMYs were confused as well. To make things even more confusing, Jungkook also dressed up like Jimin. (Watch the clip here).
“Yo they really changed up styles on us and I was tripping for about five minutes thinking Yoongi was Jimin and Jimin was JK and JK was Yoongi and then JK was Jimin until I had to research ... CHAOTIC,” one fan wrote. “I love how yoonmin [Suga (Yoongi) and Jimin's ship name] keeps stealing each other's style it's getting harder to tell who's who,” another one shared. “Yoonmin switched souls and it makes my heart burst,” one ARMY commented.
