In less than three months, "Final Fantasy VII Remake" will launch on the PlayStation 4. The game is a PlayStation exclusive for just a year. However, it appears that as early as now, work on the PC platform may have already started if the latest claims are to go by.
Square Enix, the team behind the remake, has not yet announced that the game will arrive on the PC platform. However, now that the leaks are piling up, a PC release seems more likely. The latest leaks came from a leaked "Final Fantasy VII Remake" Demo, which was reportedly added to the PlayStation 4 platform for its upcoming release on the PlayStation Store.
This "Final Fantasy VII Remake" demo was discovered by some gamers with hacked PlayStation 4. Since then, these people continuously dig through the files in the Demo and sharing datamined screenshots. From these, hints of PC port were discovered. On the social networking site Twitter, Administrator, and Wiki Editor of PS3 Developer Wiki roXyPS3 shared that they have spotted a few things that seemingly hinted a PC port was in the works.
Additionally, some codes reportedly mention higher resolutions and both AMD and Nvidia. The team also shared several files showing spells, weapons, mini-games, audio, and more. "Yeah already discussed this yesterday in Discord with others that there are many "many" signs inside the Demo that we will see a future PC Port sooner or later. There is PC Code still left inside, and it mentions various higher Resolutions together with some NVIDIA and AMD stuff," roXyPS3 states.
The "Final Fantasy VII Remake" demo recently surfaced online and featured the intro of the game. It comes with cutscenes that were never seen before. Additionally, it features the very first boss battle of the upcoming game, which looks amazing. In the original game, Cloud Strife and AVALANCHE blow up the Mako reactor, which not only causes explosion and loss of civilian lives but also strikes a massive hit to Shinra corporation.
In the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" demo, the bomb is only intended to damage the reactor, and Shinra caused the massive explosion as a way to turn public perception against AVALANCHE. The change is noticeable, both major and minor. While it might not change the main storyline of "Final Fantasy VII Remake," it does make the AVALANCHE look more heroic when compared to the original installment.
The latest leaks about "Final Fantasy VII Remake" are mere speculations, and we recommend taking the latest details with a grain of salt and with skepticism.
