RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are young and wealthy. Being one of the most successful K-pop bands in history, the BTS boys are multi-millionaires who can afford anything they want.
However, things were completely different during their rookie days. Coming from a very small company, nobody knew who the BTS boys were so they exert extra effort to put themselves out there.
Gigs and promotions were not rampant for RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook as well. With that said, the BTS members couldn’t afford to buy expensive clothes during their appearances.
During a "Reaction Cam" segment for M COUNTDOWN‘s 600th episode, BTS reacted to their debut performance. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook looked back on how it all started for them.
“It was the beginning. That stage made us who we are today. That stage really made me feel that we’ve debuted. It was the perfect, textbook debut,” Jimin said. “It was a chance to show the world that I exist,” V shared.
Suga, then, shared a story about his encounter with G-Dragon. The BIGBANG star is not only the “King of K-pop” and the leader of the legendary K-pop group, but he is also a fashion icon. Because of that, GD noticed Suga’s outfit and asked him about it.
“I remember G-Dragon sunbaenim came up to talk to me first. [He asked me] what my clothes said… it was so cheap, a 16,000 ($14 USD) hoodie with a graphic tee. I couldn’t tell him because I didn’t know what it said,” Suga said.
Now, BTS’ net worth sits somewhere around $60 million. Suga’s net worth is estimated to be around $8 million, which means he can now afford to buy luxury brands that G-Dragon was most probably wearing at the time. This just goes to show how much BTS has changed.
While it’s very easy to be swallowed whole by fame and fortune, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have always remained humble. In fact, despite breaking records after records, the BTS boys still see themselves as performers who have a lot to learn.
Although they are young, rich, and successful, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook still enjoy the simple things in life. They are so humble that they have no idea how big they really are in the entertainment world.
Every time BTS gets an opportunity to be invited to huge events, they see it as a blessing and not a privilege. This attitude is what makes ARMYs love them even more.
