The CES 2020 trade and expo show kicked off with a lot of surprising launches from various tech, electronics, and auto companies. Earlier this week, JBL unveiled its two new wireless earbuds during the trade show, the JBL TUNE 220TWS and the JBL LIVE 300TWS. Both wireless earbuds are promising to help JBL create its mark in the hearables segment of the industry, which is at present dominated by the AirPods lineup of Apple.

For consumers looking for a more affordable wireless earphone alternative that could be at par with Apple AirPods, the JBL TUNE 220TWS are worth a try. The wireless earbuds come with a slim profile and a metallic finish with 12.5 mm drivers fro some serious bass. The JBL TUNE 220TWS can withstand three hours in one charge, and its charging case provides extra juice that could last for 16 hours.

The JBL TUNE 220TWS does not come with a built-in digital assistant but offers access to them via the onboard control. The JBL TUNE 220TWS retails at $100 and could serve as one of the better alternatives for consumers considering an option to AirPods. But, for those who are willing to pay at least $50 more, they can try the JBL TUNE 220TWS.

This other AirPods alternative offers more features than its sibling. The JBL TUNE 220TWS comes with a built-in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The JBL TUNE 220TWS is a pair of in-ear buds, which means that users will not have to worry about the earbuds falling off when the user is running or exercising. The JBL TUNE 220TWS is IPX5 water-resistant; in other words, it can withstand water splashes and sweat.

Other features include the TalkThru Mode that enables users to reduce the volume to be able to talk to people without the need to take off the JBL TUNE 220TWS. It also features Ambient Aware that enables users to listen to background sounds. Moreover, the JBL TUNE 220TWS provides a whopping 20 hours battery life.

Both JBL TUNE 220TWS and JBL LIVE 300TWS will be on sale in the Spring of 2020 on the company's official website. In the coming days, the company will trickle more details about its new wireless earbuds. Both earbuds offer the same sound quality and durability as other JBL products.

Unfortunately, neither of the new wireless earbuds feature active noise cancellation feature, which is one of the strong points of Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro. But, considering both models' price point, it makes sense that both do not come with this feature.
