BLACKPINK Rose is calling on fans to support relief efforts amid the devastating bushfires affecting New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.
In an Instagram post, Rose appealed to fans to support efforts to help people and wildlife who have been displaced by the fires that have been raging for weeks.
BLACKPINK Rose, who posted a snap of a koala on her personal Instagram, also called for prayers for those who have lost homes and loved ones to the tragedy.
She included links to relief agencies that are working to put out the fire and care for the wildlife who survived the fire.
"It breaks my heart to see this. Australia is on fire, and it has been for too long now. I am heartbroken for the people and homes suffering from the fires and the millions of innocent and beautiful wildlife creatures that are injured and dying right now," and also linked pages for relief efforts," Rose said in her heartfelt post.
It comes as no surprise that the BLACKPINK member appealed since she grew up in Melbourne, a part of Victoria, that is also being plagued by the bushfire. BLlNKs are familiar with her story. Rose auditioned for YG Entertainment as a dare, not thinking that she would eventually become a member of a global hit girl group.
Rose was not the only Korean celebrity to support the cause for wildfire relief. R & B singer Jay Park also announced through a Twitter post that he will be donating $30,000 to the NSW rural fire service.
The artist will be performing this week for the first time in Auckland for his Sexy4Eva tour and chose to show his love for Australis through the donation. He also said that his label AOMG, of which he also leads as CEO will also make a similar donation, SBS Pop Asia reported.
"I'm donating 30k to https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/support-your-local-brigade. I'm gonna tell AOMG to do the same. Hopefully, it helps somewhat Pray for Australia and see you," he said.
EXO Chanyeol's fans from North America also adopted Summer Ocean, a koala under his name, and urged other fandoms also to adopt and support animals who lost their homes to the devastating fires.
According to Chanyeol's supporters, they are hoping that their actions can encourage other fans to do their part to help amid the tragedy. In their post, they included information about animal adoption and other means to support the cause.
