The South Korean tech and electronics giant Samsung may not release its next-generation foldable smartphone under the same Galaxy Fold name. Several sites earlier this month reported that the next foldable smartphone from Samsung has a code name, Galaxy Bloom. However, the new leak that surfaced earlier reveals that the upcoming clamshell-like folding smartphone might be called Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.

The latest information comes from the tech and gadget sleuth Ice Universe on the social networking site, Twitter. It is worth mentioning that it is the same tipster that earlier revealed that the much-awaited flagship smartphone series from Samsung would be officially called Galaxy S20 and not Galaxy S11. Now, the tipster is back with the claim that the device we know under the code name Galaxy Bloom would be called Galaxy Z Flip.

Earlier reports confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip would be revealed alongside the Galaxy S20 series at the Mobile World Congress in the late part of Feb. 2020. A few days ago, reports surfaced, showing the code names of the Galaxy S20 and the next generation foldable smartphone. According to reports, the Galaxy S20 has the code name Hubble, while the foldable smartphone has a code name, Bloom.

So far, very little is known about the next-generation foldable smartphone from Samsung. But, a meeting at the CES 2020 reportedly happened where Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Flip to a private and closed-door meeting, as per SlashGear. Also known as Galaxy Bloom, the South Korean company reportedly showed the foldable device as one with a clamshell-like folding orientation.

Earlier leaks revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip might feature a hole-punch camera and a small external display that would show notifications. The device is also rumored to feature an external fingerprint reader. Similar to the Motorola Razr 2019, the foldable smartphone might concentrate on cramming the smartphone into a compact design instead of maximizing the screen area.

There are whispers online that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip might cost lesser, but, at this point, considering the technology and screens used, it is hard to say that it will be less expensive. Also, foldable smartphones are still in their early days in the industry, so price-wise, do not expect that it might come cheap. It is worth mentioning that the latest leak about the name of the next-generation foldable smartphone from Samsung is just speculation at this point.

Samsung has not yet confirmed that its next foldable smartphone would be officially called Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. In this case, take this information with a pinch of salt and with skepticism.
