Katie Holmes has been a New York City girl for a long life now. But allegedly, the Dawson's Creek actress is planning to leave the city to have a healthy growth in the countryside.
RadarOnline reported that Holmes is planning to relocate to the country along with her teenage daughter, Suri. The outlet cited a source as saying the mother and daughter have become more health-conscious, and they believe living in cities such as NYC and Los Angeles is not doing any good on their physical and mental health.
The source claimed Holmes got the idea about uprooting themselves from Big Apple and live in a small-town from the wife of her former Dawson's Creek co-star, James Van Der Beek. The site alleged Kimberly Van Der Beek convinced the Batman Begins actress that the noise, pollution, and stress of living in a bustling city could result in poor health.
Gossip Cop, however, dismissed the story by checking on Holmes' rep who confirmed that Tom Cruise's ex-wife is not leaving NYC as she loves to live there. In an interview with People Magazine in 2014, the Ohio-born actress also explained why she decided to live in the busy metropolis. She said she loves New York City and she loves the people.
"I love the theater, the galleries in my neighborhood...I love the Knicks. I love talking to my neighbors in the elevator. I like feeling a part of something big," she said.
Her love for NYC also shows on her Instagram account. The numbers "212" were added to her name. This set of numbers is NYC's area code.
The premise that Holmes is moving out of NYC because for health reasons is highly doubtful. Katie earlier assured to SHAPE Magazine in an interview in November that her health is in a perfect place at the moment. The Jack and Jill actress said she has been spending a lot of time exercising and added that she has been careful about her diet.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop noted that this is not the first time the RadarOnline made a claim that Holmes is leaving New York. In September 2018, it also alleged Holmes and Jamie Foxx were moving somewhere south together.
The site claimed the two, who are still dating at the time, were allegedly on house hunting in Atlanta. The two never move south until they broke up in August 2019.
