Katie Holmes and Liam Hemsworth have, recently, split from their respective partners; Holmes with actor Jamie Foxx while Hemsworth with Miley Cyrus. Now, a romance has been rumored to be brewing between The Gift actress and The Hunger Games actor.
Australian weekly magazine New Idea reported that Hemsworth's sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, is planning to play matchmaker to her husband's brother and Holmes. According to the magazine, Pataky plans to meet them up when Holmes visits Australia in November as an ambassador for McHappy Day, which is an annual fundraiser event of McDonald's.
The New Idea added that the 40-year-old Dawson's Creek actress and Pataky became good pals when they both attended an event in Hollywood a couple of years back. It also wrote that The Hunger Games actor has, previously, hinted that he would be open to dating an older woman.
However, New Idea's report about Holmes-Hemsworth romance has been debunked by some celebrity news sites. Gossip Cop noted that there is no truth about the rumor. Some also noted that there is no indication that Holmes and Pataky have, at one point, socialize together.
Holmes and Foxx split in May after dating for five years. Reports claimed that the ex-couple is believed to have split after the Robin Hood actor was spotted leaving Betsy Bellows with 21-year-old singer, Sela Vave.
Following their split, Foxx addressed the rumor that he had moved in with Vave. The actor admitted that they are living together, but stressed that it is strictly a business arrangement. He added that Vave's mother put her trust in him and he will never cross the line to start a romantic relationship with the singer.
Hemsworth and Cyrus, on the other hand, announced their separation last month after less than a year of marriage. Liam filed for divorce and, since then, Cyrus has been spotted engaged in some serious PDA moments with Brody Jenner's ex-girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter.
Hemsworth, meanwhile, is spending a vacation with family and friends at Richard Brandson's Makepeace Island off the coast of Australia. A romance rumor between Hemsworth and Lindsay Lohan has been circulating lately after the latter commented on one of Liam's photos during his vacation.
"Why didn't we meet in Sydney or Bondi?!" Lohan wrote in her comment which received backlash from some netizens.
However, there were also reports that the Mean Girls actress is just "having a laugh" when she wrote a comment on the photo. LiLo is, currently, in Australia for the filming of her version of The Masked Singer.
