However, unlike other Apple updates, AirPods Pro firmware update does not allow downgrading to an earlier version. In other words, when you already upgraded to the most recent Firmware Update 2C54; there is a chance that the Active Noise Cancellation of your AirPods Pro could have been affected.

If this is the case, you could try doing simple hacks while waiting for the next firmware update from Apple. You might try adding memory foam ear tips to your wireless earbuds for enhanced passive isolation, suggests LifeHacker. You could also try switching to a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

The issue with AirPods Pro's Active Noise Cancellation surfaced following the rollout of the Firmware Update 2C54. Since the AirPods Pro was released, the Cupertino company deployed two firmware updates. In Nov. 2019, Apple released the first update with the most recent firmware version deployed on Dec. 16, 2019.

However, following the update, some fans noticed that the Active Noise Cancellation feature of the AirPods Pro is not working the way it used to. Users' observations were affirmed by RTINGS website. The latest Apple AirPods Pro firmware update 2C54 introduced a fairly significant drop in terms of isolation performance, says RTINGS.

Wccftech has the same observation noting that the Active Noise Cancellation in the bass range is not good. This is particularly noticeable when in an environment with low-end noise like plane engines or trains, the site claims. Following users' complaints and reports, Apple seemingly pulled the firmware update.

Apple did not say anything about the latest AirPods Pro firmware version. However, its move of pulling the update could be to fix the issue with Active Noise Cancellation that users' are complaining about. Apple will roll out another firmware update anytime soon that will certainly fix this issue.

Meanwhile, users who placed orders of AirPods Pro on the company's official website would have to wait a little longer for the arrival of stocks. Apple earlier informed customers ordering on its website that the wait time would be a lot longer since stocks are arriving in Feb. 2020.
