As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle move on to the next chapter of their lives away from the U.K., one member of the royal family is reportedly "massively sad" at the turn of events. Prince Charles is said to be reeling from Prince Harry and Meghan's decision to move to Canada and step back from their royal duties.

Sources from inside the royal palace reportedly told Daily Mail royal correspondent Richard Kay that Prince Charles is "floored" over Prince Harry and Meghan's issues. From his perspective, the Prince of Wales was sure that he extended all that he can to make Meghan feel part of the royal family. Thus, he feels more hurt by her actions and decisions.

According to the report, it was Prince Charles who convinced Queen Elizabeth to give her permission to Prince Harry to marry his American girlfriend. It was also Prince Charles who spent time to bond with the duchess and educate her about their duties and work.

Prince Charles also gave full support to Prince Harry and Meghan when they moved to Frogmore Cottage, including establishing their own court for Sussex in Buckingham Palace. More than these, Meghan, who became close to her father-in-law within his almost two-year marriage to the Duke of Sussex, was apparently instrumental in helping Prince Charles become closer to his second son.

It's no secret that Prince Harry had issues with his father, especially in his younger years. When he lost his mother, his father was also dealing with his own problems with the public perception of his relationship to Camilla.

But, the heir to throne also had issues about criticisms that MegXit was largely driven by racism. A friend told the royal correspondent that Prince Charles genuinely believed that Prince Harry's marriage to a mixed-race American was good for the modern British family.

Meanwhile, Telegraph reported that Prince Charles will bankroll Prince Harry and Meghan's new life in Canada, if the Canadians will refuse to pay for the Sussex's security. Apparently, the Prince of Wales will dip into his private investment to help the Sussex couple and their son Archie.

Prince Harry and Meghan will officially be out of their royal duties by spring 2020. They are still considered members of the royal family but they will no longer be working and representing the Queen at official state functions.
