In her 67 years of reign, Queen Elizabeth II has been always active in attending public engagements. Despite her age, as well as other factors, it appears that she rarely cancels her appearances on various events until in recent years when she was reportedly already passing on some duties to the next in line to the throne, Prince Charles.

On Thursday, the 93-year-old monarch was supposed to make an appearance on the annual Women's Institute visit in its Sandringham branch. However, an hour and a half before the start of the event, it was announced that the Queen will no longer make it "due to ill health."

According to The Sun UK, many fans and reporters were shocked upon learning that Queen Elizabeth II will no longer make an appearance in the event. One of the members of her security team confirmed that it was because "she was not feeling up to it."

A royal source then explained that she has a cold. Even so, the illness was only described as a "slight cold." So, there is no need to panic or cause a commotion among the waiting fans and reporters in the area.

Aside from these details, no further information has been disclosed to the public. This is why many people got worried about her upon learning the reason for her absence.

The last time that Queen Elizabeth II was "spotted" in public was when she attended a Sunday church service at the St. Mary the Virgin Church in Norfolk. It was even noted that she went with Prince Andrew, who was reportedly staying in his home in the area.

As per sources, the Queen was "all smiles" during the service. She also greeted members of the congregation. Hence, it seemingly appears that she was all fine earlier this week.

However, no further reports were released about the Queen's activities after that Sunday last week. The Women's Institute visit on Thursday was also supposed to be a great venue to get an update about her.

Queen Elizabeth II has been staying in Sandringham since the holiday season. As per previous reports, she always stays at the Sandringham Estate until after the death anniversary of her father. If this is going to be the case for this year, then it might take a while before the general public could get a hold of new updates and details about the monarch.

As for the Women's Institute event, reports claimed that the Queen has been attending the annual gathering since 1943. All attendees and guests would enjoy a "cake" and a cup of "tea." Afterward, a guest speaker is always invited to deliver a new pitch and speech about the organization. Based on reports, BBC Newsreader, Huw Edwards was chosen for this part of the event.
