Pocophone F1 was a phenomenal success, and fans are still talking about it almost a couple of years after it released in the market. Since last year fans were talking about its successor, but it seems that information about the next Pocophone began surfacing this year. Just a few minutes ago, POCO India announced that the POCO X2 is its next smartphone launching on Feb. 4, 2020.
POCO X2 Is Finally Here
POCO India finally announced that it is unveiling its next smartphone for almost a couple of years following the release of Pocophone F1. On Feb. 4, 2020, fans would finally get to see the highly anticipated smartphone with high expectations. The company also reveals some of the specs and features of the POCO X2.
The official website of the POCO X2 reveals that it will feature liquid cooling and a high refresh rate display. Based on one of the images, it appears that the upcoming smartphone would sport a Sony IMX 686 primary camera sensor. The presence of the liquid cooling could hint that the device might have a dual-camera configuration with a physical fingerprint scanner.
It is possible that at this point, POCO India is still hiding the real design of POCO X2, and what is shown on the website is just a render. Based on the image, there is a headphone jack located in the same location as the Pocophone F1. But, if the next smartphone is going to be the POCO X2, it might disappoint expectant fans.
Rebranded Redmi K30
Earlier this month, XDA Developers shared that one of its junior members got a Redmi K30 4G with a pre-installed phoenixin ROM. The junior member also shared a screen recording of the device, which revealed that it has a model name of POCO X2. Recent Geekbench sightings also showed several POCO X2 benchmarks with the code name phonenixin.
If that's the case, the upcoming POCO X2 is a rebranded Redmi K30 4G, which was unveiled in China in the latter part of 2019. If the speculations are accurate, then fans could expect that POCO X2 would have the specs of the Redmi K30 4G. It includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC, 256 GB storage, and 8GB of RAM.
The POCO X2 might feature a 120 Hz refresh rate display and a 4500 mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging. But, the next smartphone could also be a totally new and different handset. At this point, that is the only details we have about the POCO X2.
