As the news broke out that the divorce of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth has been finalized, a new rumor emerged that the singer is still in love with her ex-husband. Though their marriage only lasted for less than a year, they had an on-and-off relationship for 10 years.
Heat claimed Cyrus has been trying to act happy with her new boyfriend Cody Simpson but, the truth is, she is not yet over with Hemsworth. A source of the tabloid predicted that Miley's romance with Cody is just for show and it wouldn't last long.
"She's not fooling anyone with these PDAs and phony social media posts, which always come right after Liam's been in the news," a source told the tabloid.
The insider added that the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker continues to keep herself updated on what is happening in Liam's life through their mutual friends. The source also alleged that when Miley is drunk, she talks about the Hunger Games actor as the love of her life and that she has been struggling to let go of him.
Gossip Cop dismissed the story, citing a source close to Cyrus as saying that these rumors are total nonsense. The site pointed out Heat had been notoriously publishing false information about Miley in the past.
In October, it falsely claimed that the friends of the singer urged her to check into rehab for "addiction" on social media. The site also made several claims in the past about Cyrus and Hemsworth's relationship-from their alleged secret wedding to honeymoon location.
Meanwhile, it is officially over between The Last Song stars. Entertainment Tonight cited the online records for the Los Angeles Superior Court that stated a judge has already signed off on the ex-couple divorce settlement. This means they are now legally separated and single again.
Just last month, it was reported that Miley and Liam worked out the final details of their divorce and have already reached a settlement. ET cited a source as saying the dividing property wasn't an issue between the ex-spouses since they have a prenup.
The two announced their split in August 2019, eight months after their very private wedding in December 2018. Then, Miley was spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter while on vacation in Italy. Hemsworth filed for divorce later that month.
Miley and Carter split soon after. The Hannah Montana actress is, currently, dating Australian singer Cody Simpson while Hemsworth was, recently, photographed kissing Aussie model Gabriella Brooks.
