Apple has a very impressive fiscal Q1 2020 thanks to its iPhones, AirPods, Apple Watches, and other products. Reports claim that the release of the upcoming products of the Cupertino company might be affected because of the possible supply chain disruption due to the nCov outbreak. But, it appears that Apple is planning to launch a lot of interesting new products in the first half of 2020, including the AirTags, according to the latest report.

Apple AirTags Earlier Reports

A new report from TFI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that Apple is planning to introduce a Tile-like product this year. In Apr. 2019, 9to5mac reported about Apple's plan of merging Find My iPhone and Find My Friends' services into one app. The upcoming Apple product would be able to track a wide range of devices.

The report also claimed that the upcoming product would compete with other companies like Tile. Additionally, the report revealed that the Tile-like product would roll out as a Marzipan-based application for both macOS and iOS. Today, Macrumors, which got a hold of Ming-Chi Kuo's recent research note reaffirms these claims.

The TFI Securities analyst believes that AirTags would support Ultra Wideband, which would be responsible for allowing the product to find the tag with better accuracy than WiFi or Bluetooth.

Apple AirTags Details

Similar to other tracking devices, Apple AirTags would enable users to find items. Users reportedly would attach AirTags to items using an adhesive or some kind of ring attachment. Earlier reports claimed that it could feature a swappable battery based on assets pointing that users could swap the battery out.

Presumably, AirTags would be on the new Items tab of Find My App. Just like lost iPhones, AirTags could appear on the app's map, and users could locate the item by having the AirTags produce a loud sound. Kuo's research note reveals that Apple AirTags might arrive in the first half of 2020 alongside other Apple products.

So far, we have no information about the price of Apple AirTags. However, based on the prices of other products, it ranges between $25 and $35 per tag. Apple could offer more advanced technology and better features on the upcoming AirTags and retail it at a considerably higher price than its rivals.

Kuo also mentions in his report that aside from AirTags, Apple is also planning to release a wireless charging mat with a smaller charger. Details about this product are thin so far, but if it is accurate, we will definitely hear more about it in the coming days.
