Kate Middleton has a sweet new nickname dubbed by her royal followers. They call her the Children's Princess for her strong affinity and connection towards any child.
The nickname is also an ode to Kate's late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. While she was still alive, the mother of Prince William was regarded as the People's Princess because of her strong connection to the public.
According to Mirror, Kate's nickname Children's Princess started popping up in the comments section when the Duchess of Cambridge posted a video for her impressive Five Questions survey in January. Royal fans have been impressed by how much Kate has always loved working for children's causes. Thus, she is always seen in photos surrounded by kids.
Followers of the Duchess of Cambridge also said that they love how she is very conscious of relating to the children on their level. Kate literally crunches down when she speaks to the kids so that they see each other eye to eye. Apparently, doing this gives the children a sense of comfort when they are around an adult like the royal.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Kate joined Prince William for a royal visit to the south of Wales, where she got along really well with many of the children. A particularly interesting encounter involved a three-year-old child who was expecting to see a princess who looked like Cinderella in her ballgown.
Amused, Kate apologized to the disappointed little girl because the princess before her was not wearing a pretty dress so she was not a real princess in the eyes of the child. But no matter how disappointed the little girl was that Kate was in her coat, Annabel still got a big hug from the Duchess of Cambridge. Her mother said that she was still impressed by the royal.
In that same visit to Wales, Kate and Prince William tried to re-learn the local language. According to People, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lived in this part of the region in the early years of their marriage so they are actually exposed to some Welsh words.
Meanwhile, a video of this royal visit was posted online showing Kate exchanging high gives with some kids. One of them included a five-year-old who was asked by Kate how she manages to stay warm during the winter season. She told the duchess that she drinks a cup of hot chocolate and Kate tried to connect with her again by saying she loves a hot chocolate cup as well.
