Lionel Messi remains a prominent figure for Barcelona, but any athlete could decide to move on. The 32-year-old Argentine can easily move on to any other Premier League team if he wants, mainly because his contract holds a free transfer at the end of each season.

Kaka, considered one of the best players of his time, gave his take on recent comments made by sporting director Eric Abidal. According to Yahoo Sports, he questioned the full commitment of players under former coach Ernesto Valverde.

And though no names were mentioned, Messi took exception and responded to the Abidal on social media. With the exchange, there are now concerns about whether the 32-year-old forward remains happy at Camp Nou.

Messi remains the team's all-time leading scorer. He has spent his entire professional career with the Catalan Giants, proof of how valuable the Argentine football player is. Though that exchange with Abidal may be nothing, it does send off mixed signals for Barca moving forward. What if Messi gets fed up and decides to test the waters?

This is something that Kaka seems to be getting at. The day may come when Messi may get fed up or decide to move on. With the talent that Messi has, the 2007 Ballon d'Or winner believes the 32-year-old will have no trouble to join another top club.

"I think it's not going to be a problem for him to play in the Premier League, or [to play] at a top club at the top three leagues in the world would be good for him," Kaka told Sky Sports News.

Kaka admits that seeing that happen is a long shot but is nevertheless a possibility. It all depends on what Messi wants in his career. He singles out the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, who decided to move on from Real Madrid for Juventus. But the key here is that no one can forecast when a player feels it is time to move on and take on another challenge.

As things stand now, Messi seems pretty content with Barcelona. He recently inspired a thrilling 3-2 win over Real Betis in La Liga, seemingly showing no signs of being affected by the criticism being thrown at the team.

At the end of the day, it may all boil down to the love Messi has for Barca. Having spent 19 years in Catalonia, the chances of seeing him moving are remote but are nevertheless possible.
