Super Junior's Heechul has indirectly shared the advantage of making his relationship with TWICE's Momo public. He said that now, nobody will misunderstand his relationship with his friends.

In a recent episode of My Little Old Boy, Heechul was seen visiting one his good friends from his teenage years. Because the pair did not see each other for a long time, they decided to simply hang out at home to catch up, All Kpop reported.

Heechul's friend decided to help him dye his hair as they shot the breeze and even gave him a shoulder massage like what salon staff did with their clients.

However, the friend suddenly asked if people would misunderstand them because giving massages is something lovers would typically do.

"If these were old times, then people would have misunderstood us. They would say, 'What is Kim Heechul doing with that fellow'. Nowadays, nobody will misunderstand me," he said.

Heechul rarely made references to his relationship with Momo, but the pair made their relationship public at the beginning of the year through the confirmation of their agencies, Label SJ and JYP Entertainment.

For several years, Heechul had to deal with rumors that he was not straight, which was not helped by his regular cross dressing for segments of Knowing Bros. and the constant teasing of his castmates and Super Junior members. He was also teased for his friendship with a lot of girl group members and his expertise in dance steps relating to female idols.

However, in an interview, Heechul clarified that he did not oppose the allegations too harshly because it would be offensive to members of the LGBT community.

Heechul's indirect reference to his relationship with Momo became a subject of discussion by some media outlets since the pair have been very careful about mentioning their relationship in their other engagements.

While the general public met the news with support, there were also those who found issue with the couple's refusal to share information on when they started dating.

Heechul said that he was thankful for the fans for their support but at the same time felt guilty to them. He said he pushed back the release of his solo album that was dedicated to the fans so that they will not misunderstand the meaning of his songs. The Universal Star has recently been cast as MC of the JTBC variety 7.7 Billion Love.
