Princess Beatrice is not going to have a lavish royal wedding. She will exchange vows with her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in a very private ceremony on May 29 at The Chapel Royal in St. James Palace without any live broadcast on television.

But no matter how low-key Princess Beatrice's big day will be compared to other royal weddings, she will have something that Prince Harry and Meghan never enjoyed. She and Edo will have their wedding reception at the Buckingham Palace as Queen Elizabeth's gift.

In a statement released to the press, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Princess of York and her soon-to-be-husband will be having their very private wedding reception in the gardens courtesy of the bride's grandmother. The last time the Queen hosted a wedding at her official residence was when Prince William exchanged "I do's" with Kate Middleton in April 2011.

Prince Harry and Meghan had their wedding reception at Frogmore Cottage during their May 2018 wedding after a ceremony in the more high-profile St. George's Chapel. Princess Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, also got married to Jack Brooksbank in the same church in October 2018 but their reception was at Windsor Castle.

Reports stated that Queen Elizabeth decided to give Princess Beatrice and Edo the wedding reception at her official home to show her support amid a very difficult time for the Yorks. The bride's father, Prince Andrew, has been embroiled in controversy over his ties to a known pedophile.

Speaking of whom, the Duke of York will be present for Princess Beatrice's wedding to Edo. Prince Andrew is actually going to give his daughter away by walking her down the aisle.

The controversial royal has been avoiding the public since his ill-fated TV interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein in November. He was actually not seen at Princess Beatrice's engagement party last December thus royal fans were speculating if he'll not be at the wedding ceremony as well.

Meanwhile, like Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice will not receive any dukedoms or new title from Queen Elizabeth as a wedding gift. As per royal laws, this privilege is only given to the sons and grandsons of the monarch.

Thus, when Prince William and Prince Harry married, they became the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex, respectively. Their wives, on the other hand, received the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex titles automatically since they are married to the royals.
