Meghan Markle is likely celebrating the success of her guest editor gig with British Vogue. The September 2019 issue, which she conceptualized and collaborated with the magazine's actual editor, Edward Enninful, is reportedly the "fastest-selling issue" in the history of the magazine.

Enninful announced the Duchess of Sussex's newest success on Instagram. The editor also revealed that copies of the issue sold out in a matter of 10 days and was also the biggest-selling issue of the past decade.

The September 2019 issue, titled "Forces of Change," featured 15 prominent changemakers and very influential women from all around the world in the cover. It also had a story between Meghan and former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.

According to its publisher Conde Nast, British Vogue has a print circulation of an average of 192,000 and on overall readership, including its digital circulation, of 861,000 monthly. British Vogue has actually helped Conde Nast stay afloat despite the decline in print publication in recent years. The month of September is usually a big deal for fashion magazines.

In response to Enninful and to celebrate this success, the Duchess of Sussex posted a never-before-seen video on Instagram. It was of her and the Vogue editor celebrating together as they completed work on the issue. The video was filmed sometime in August last year, as the magazine was put to print.

Enninful recalled that they were initially going to collaborate for Smart Works, one of the duchess' patronages. Meghan admitted that she pushed it further by boldly asking to guest edit his magazine.

The editor said that Meghan is the first person to ever guest-edit British Vogue. He complemented the royal for having an editor's eye. Meghan said, however, that she left the fashion stuff to Enninful and his team, but what she wanted, especially on the cover, was to have an issue that would resonate so well with the readers.

Meghan also congratulated British Vogue in the video caption. She extended her thanks to those who supported and helped put the issue together.

The news comes as Meghan was criticized for her guest-editing gig. Some members of the British media thought the duchess was too vocal, too political, and too divisive.

She chose to feature and highlight transgender Laverne Coz in the Vogue issue, which was seen as an endorsement of transgenderism. She was also slammed for coming up with a Trump-hating and left-wing edition of the magazine, according to The Sun.

The British tabloid press also said that members of the royal family don't guest-edit fashion magazines. It's usually celebrities who do these things.
