Prince Philip will most likely be attending the wedding of his fifth grandchild, Princess Beatrice, to the Italian property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. A royal commentator revealed that the Duke of Edinburgh would not miss this event.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that Prince Philip was present at the wedding of Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's younger sister, in 2018. He was retired, but he didn't skip the wedding. Thus, if his health permits then Prince Philip will not skip this upcoming special affair as well.

But barely two months before, Prince Philip was in the hospital for four days of treatment. Doctors say this was a precautionary measure to address a pre-existing condition.

Before his hospitalization, Prince Philip had a flu-like sickness and a bad fall at his estate. In January 2019, he was also involved in a minor car crash.

In the past decade, Prince Philip had a hip replacement surgery, an abdominal surgery, and some treatments for a bladder infection and a coronary condition. Buckingham Palace did not detail which of these conditions triggered a visit to the hospital last December, but the Duke of Edinburgh has since been resting in his farmland.

Princess Beatrice originally planned to have her wedding in Italy, her soon-to-be husband's birth country. However, the York princess changed her mind because she apparently wants her grandfather to go and witness her special day.

The royal made the switch after Prince Philip's hospitalization. Queen Elizabeth also rarely travels these days without her husband, so the decision to have the wedding in London made even better sense for Prince Andrew's daughter.

Princess Beatrice and Edo's wedding will be a lot low-key than other royal weddings. She chose a smaller chapel inside St. James Palace for the wedding ceremony, but the Queen gifted her the Buckingham Palace gardens for the reception.

The engaged royal also does not want a televised live coverage of her wedding. Princess Beatrice is forgoing the traditional carriage for the bride, which took her sister, Princess Eugenie, and cousins-in-law, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, to church during their wedding day.

Sources said that Princess Beatrice and Edo's event would most likely be just like any normal wedding and not a grand royal wedding. The York royal reportedly doesn't mind the small-scale arrangement since she isn't also the type to relish in the fanfare as a shy, quiet and very private personality.
