Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, are going to carry out some royal engagements in place of Prince Harry and Meghan. Queen Elizabeth has called on her granddaughters to step in as several royal events are coming up this year.

According to Daily Mail, Prince Charles, who has been rumored to prefer a more "slimmed-down" monarchy, is not opposed to this idea anymore. The Prince of Wales is aware that they need more from members of the royal family actively working for The Firm this time, especially since the York sisters' father has been on an indefinite leave from his royal functions as well.

The report went on to say that Prince Charles is quite fond of his nieces and will not prevent them from carrying out duties on behalf of Queen Elizabeth. With Prince Harry and Meghan living across the pond, and Prince Andrew hardly showing himself in public due to his controversies, The Firm has to rely on the other members of the royal family to work for the Queen's charities.

In November, Prince Andrew announced he was going on indefinite leave following his train wreck of an interview with BBC. He wanted to clarify his friendship with the child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, but in speaking up, he drew more criticisms from the public.

In January, Prince Harry and Meghan said that they would like to leave London and be based in North America. Essentially, they would not be able to perform their royal duties while abroad. Queen Elizabeth allowed them to uproot their lives and become financially independent, but in doing so, the Sussex royals will be stripped off their royal titles effective Spring 2020.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are not senior royals; thus, they don't usually represent the Queen in royal functions. They also hold full-time jobs outside of the royal family. Princess Eugenie is the director of the art gallery Hauser & Wirth, while Princess Beatrice is an executive in a software company.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice is preparing for her big wedding day on May 29. The older York sister will be exchanging vows with fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at St. James Place, which will be followed with a reception at the Buckingham Palace gardens.

Princess Eugenie posted a photo of her and her big sister as little flower girls from several years ago. She said that she's excited and proud of her sister's big day. In a previous post on Instagram, she said that Bea and Edo are meant to be together.
