Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced last month that they will be stepping down as senior royals to focus more on their family and charities. They also said that they aim to be “financially independent” as they start their new life outside the Royal Family.

As expected, their shocking announcement didn’t sit well with the public. Many believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are constantly making the wrong choices. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed firm to their decision and their recent snaps seemingly confirmed that they are happy with how things are working out for them.

On Friday, Valentine's Day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were photographed at the Victoria airport in Canada for the first time since they announced their big news. The casual shots were obtained exclusively by the Daily Mail as they arrived after a commercial flight from the US.

Despite the turmoil that they’ve been through after their announcement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were all smiles at the airport and looked genuinely happy. Being a royal by blood, it was a big deal for the Duke of Sussex to turn his back on the life that he has known since birth, but the Duchess reportedly has “no regrets” with their decision at all.

The couple is currently residing at a $14 million waterfront Vancouver Island mansion and an earlier report revealed that the family-of-three are enjoying their lives after announcing their bombshell departure news in early January.

“Meghan has no regrets and the sky's the limit. She said [she and Harry] feel like a huge weight has been lifted,” the source said. “They've been spending quality time together as a family. Meghan has been cooking and making homemade baby food for Archie.”

After announcing their decision, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s website stated that they would “carve out a progressive new role” and “adjust their working model.” But after their discussion with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William, it was decided that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will completely step back from royal duties as of spring of 2020.

Even though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wished to withdraw from being senior royals, they still want to “collaborate” with Queen Elizabeth. However, they were told that they can “no longer formally represent” Her Majesty in their new lives.

“Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible,” Prince Harry said during his Sentebale speech.
