Jennifer Aniston has several famous ex-lovers and she is friends to some if not all of them. Take for instance, John Mayer. Reports have it that the former couple had met up recently and Jen's other ex, Brad Pitt, is not okay with it.
It has been reported that the Friends actress and Mayer met up last month over dessert at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. They were later on joined by TV personality Andy Cohen and Aniston's close friend and Jason Bateman's wife, Amanda Anka.
It looks like the group had a happy get together of friends. NW, however, decided to put some twist in its story and added Brad Pitt on it.
According to NW source, Mayer is "making a play" on Aniston because he is upset by the rumors that the actress got back together with Pitt. The "New Light" singer, allegedly, panicked when he realized that things are getting serious between Aniston and Pitt. Mayer, reportedly, invited Jen for dessert to catch up and to determine where her relationship with the Ad Astra actor stands at the moment.
The insider claimed Aniston can't stop talking about Brad during their meet up and it hurt John's ego so much. And then, NW added more drama to its story by claiming Brad was shocked when he learned about Jen's meeting with Mayer.
Brad, allegedly, made sure that his ex-wife would know that he is not okay with it. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor also allegedly issued a warning on the "Gravity" singer to stay away from Aniston.
"Brad is all too aware of John's reputation as a ladies' man and has put the word out that John should back off... Brad can pull strings in the music industry as much as in movies. One word from Brad into the right ear and he'll be canceled," the source said.
Gossip Cop stressed that it couldn't be true that Pitt warned Mayer about keeping his distance from Aniston since he and The Morning Show actress are just friends. Jen and Brad sparked dating rumors since their split from Justin Theroux and Angelina Jolie, respectively.
It got fueled by their recent run-in at the SAG Awards. However, several reliable publications have reported that the two remain as friends and nothing is going on between them.
Moreover, Gossip Cop noted that Mayer isn't "making a play" on his ex as he and Jen also remained friendly on each other since they split about a decade ago. In fact, the 42-year-old crooner also attended Aniston's 50th birthday party in February last year. It was the same event that Pitt attended.
It was unclear if the two had a chance to talk during the party as it was packed with celebrities. Pitt and Mayer may have also run into their other exes at Jen's birthday bash. Pitt's ex Gwyneth Paltrow attended the party, so was Mayer's former flame, Katy Perry.
