Queen Elizabeth II, reportedly, bans Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from using their Sussex Royal brand. After the Sussexes step back as senior members of the royal family, Her Majesty and other senior officials come up with the decision to stop them from using the term royal due to inconsistency in their branding.

After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent thousands of pounds to trademark the name, Daily Mail reported that they could no longer use Sussex Royal as their brand. It is known that the couple is using it as the name of their website and Instagram page, which has a whopping 11.2 million followers.

Despite the efforts they have made, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accepted the decision as part of their new working arrangements after they stepped down. Sadly, along with other things that they still want to do for the monarchy, although they are no longer senior royals, they are also not allowed to use the Sussex Royal brand.

"As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family and will work towards financial independence, use of the word 'Royal,' in this context, needed to be reviewed," a source told Daily Express. "Discussions are still ongoing."

The insider added that, as part of the process of their transition into their new lives, planning for the launch of their new non-profit organization is still underway. Details about this plan are said to be out in "due course."

Their official charitable organization, Sussex Royal, is set to be launched in April. However, it remains to be seen if it will ever push through.

Another source revealed that the news about the non-use of Sussex Royal brand was "inevitable." Hence, it would be a big blow to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

With their decision to step down, it is not far that Queen Elizabeth will remove their right to use the royal brand. It will inevitably affect the royal couple with everything that they have invested for the name. However, the Queen seems left with no choice.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's plan to be "half-in, half-out" working royals is never going to work out. Although Queen Elizabeth said that they would still stay as "much-loved" members of the royal family, they couldn't market themselves as royals if they were not doing official royal duties and seeking other commercial opportunities at the same time. With this new decision, it looks like they have to rebrand.
