Google launched earlier today the developer preview of Android 11. This year, the developer preview comes a little bit earlier than last year's launch. Thanks to the Android 11 developer preview, Android users now have the idea on what to look forward to in the upcoming next-generation OS.

Scoped Storage

One of the most controversial features coming with Android 11 is the Scoped storage. This feature restricts the apps from enjoying an unfiltered access on the storage of the device. With Scoped storage, apps could only explore its own folder and in other common locations like the Downloads folder.

Improved Flight Mode

In the past, we have seen several reports claiming that Android 11 would improve the Flight Mode. It appears that this feature is confirmed in the Android 11 Developer Preview. When the feature finally rolls out on Android devices, users could still use the Bluetooth connectivity of the device even if it is set to Flight Mode.

Improved Screenshot

Android smartphones running on Android 11 would be able to take rolling screenshots in the future. This particular function was intended to be included in Android 10, but the search engine giant claimed that it has to polish the feature before it could officially roll it out. With Android 11, users can take a rolling screenshot, which is handy for capturing lengthy statements, posts, or even a page of an ebook.

Bubbles

This feature is similar to that in the chat heads on Facebook. Like the Rolling Screenshot feature, Bubbles was intended to be in Android 10 last year. With this feature, users could keep several conversations and easily access it through the floating bubble. The feature seems to support Google's own messaging app, but it might soon be available in other messaging app platforms if the apps use would take advantage of this feature.

Screen Recording

In addition to the Rolling Screenshot feature, Android 11 would also introduce the screen recording feature. It can be recalled that this was already in the Android 10 betas but was not able to finally release along with the OS. This time screen recording feature is back with a lot of fancy UI. As the name implies. This feature allows users to record their screen.

Aside from these, there are a plethora of interesting features coming with Android 11. Google would also release better support for folding devices, waterfall screens, and pinhole displays with Android 11. It also promises better 5G integration and improved security and privacy. Google has not yet revealed the release date of Android 11, but we will keep you posted with the latest news as soon as we get interesting ones.
