"PUBG" is currently rolling out an important update to its Private Test Server today through update 6.2. The update enables console players to party up or team up together. With update 6.2, "PUBG" players could squad up with other players even if they are playing on a different brand of gaming console.
The "PUBG" update 6.2 features cross party play which enables all players who own the video game to test upcoming features and help the developer fix issues and find bugs before the update is released to the main game. This feature is available in the Purchased section of PlayStation 4's Library and could be downloaded in Microsoft Store or in My Games and Apps menu on Xbox One.
The new feature underlines that the game that was once an Xbox One exclusive will now allow PS4 and Xbox One players to enjoy the game together smoothly. It is worth noting that the cross-play has been in the game for some time now. The previous feature only allowed parties to team up with other players using the same console.
However, this latest feature introduced in "PUBG" update 6.2 would make it much easier for friends to team up with their friends using other consoles or systems. Aside from the cross party play feature, "PUBG" also introduced team Deathmatch on the game's Public Test Server. This is applicable for players who want to enjoy 8 vs. 8 first-person perspective battles on seven various battlefields.
The latest update also introduces several gameplay improvements. It includes changes in how Molotov cocktails and grenades work. Other tweaks added by "PUBG" Update 6.2 includes improved map waypointing.
In 2018, "PUBG" began allowing Xbox One and PS4 players to play against each other. It was lauded by players since it allows them to open the game to other platforms and connect more players. The cross party play feature introduced in "PUBG" 6.2 is only available to PS4 and Xbox One players.
In other words, it is not yet available for PC players. As part of the cross party play feature, the team behind "PUBG" also introduced a new friends list tab with PUBG mark that appears on a friend using different consoles or systems. Through this, gamers could search for their friends using other platforms.
