Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might have found their home in the United States. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly looking into a $7 million mansion in Malibu which is near the home of Robert Downey Jr.
According to Daily Mail, the property used to house Baywatch actor David Charvet and his wife Brooke Burke. It's also very near the houses of celebrities like Mel Gibson and Caitlyn Jenner.
Jenner told The Sun in January that she's been hearing talks of Prince Harry and Meghan moving to Malibu. She also said that she was shocked by Sussex couple's decision to step back from royal life but there they also deserve to be happy with their choice.
According to Page Six, the estate Prince Harry and Meghan are eyeing is known as Petra Manor. Its listing stated that the property has extensive amenities and the house was built with artisan craftsmanship.
Petra Manor is for short term rentals only and is not up for sale. Charvet is still the owner and this estate is one of his many investments. Prince Harry and Meghan have not yet been to the house personally. Sources said that the couple has been looking for a place to live in Los Angeles through online listings.
The luxurious crib has eight bedrooms, six bathrooms, a swimming pool and a sprawling garden. It's about 30 miles away from Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.
Malibu is also quite accessible to Hollywood, where Prince Harry and Meghan plan to field offers to produce films and TV shows for studios like Disney and Netflix in their bid for financial independence. However, it's not yet clear what the Sussex pair are going to work on the moment they become private citizens.
By March 31, Prince Harry and Meghan will officially end their royal duties with Buckingham Palace. After they step down, they will no longer be representing Queen Elizabeth in official royal engagements. They will also no longer be allowed to use Sussex Royal as their brand name.
Before their new life begins, however, Prince Harry and Meghan will perform their final royal duties from the end of February to the second week of March. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to be at their last royal event, the Commonwealth Day on March 9.
Currently, Prince Harry and Meghan are renting a mansion in Vancouver, Canada. They have been living in this house since the holidays last year.
