Meghan Markle is apparently telling friends that nothing is legally stopping her and Prince Harry from using the name Sussex Royal. Despite Queen Elizabeth blocking the couple from carrying the name, reports state that the Duchess of Sussex is apparently being defiant.

According to Daily Mail, Meghan apparently complained to her inner circle about Queen Elizabeth's ban. She said that using Sussex Royal "shouldn't even be an issue" since they will not be selling T-shirts or pencils.

Insiders said that Prince Harry and Meghan are actually working on global projects in line with their advocacies. They trademarked Sussex Royal not to profit from the royal name but to protect it from potential misuse.

Her friends also said that Meghan is done with the drama and naysayers in their royal life. The Duchess of Sussex is determined to succeed regardless of their brand name.

However, Buckingham Palace released an official statement following the Daily Mail report. A spokesperson confirmed that it is actually the intention of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex not to use Sussex Royal when they officially step down from their royal roles.

By spring, Prince Harry and Meghan will be establishing their new organization in place of the Sussex Royal Foundation. Currently, however, they still use Sussex Royal on Instagram and on their website.

Royal experts said that Prince Harry and Meghan were not expecting to be stripped off their royal titles during the discussions of their new arrangement with Queen Elizabeth. Losing the name Sussex Royal could be a big blow to their brand but the Queen is firm in saying that they can no longer be identified as "royals" if they step down.

Prince Harry and Meghan will officially end their working royal duties by March 31. However, they will still be doing their final royal engagements at the end of February until March 9. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have separate or solo engagements, as well as joint engagements, which will culminate on Commonwealth Day. The Sussexes are expected to be reunited with the royal family in public for the Commonwealth Day commemorations in Westminster Abbey.

By April, Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to return to North America and begin their private work. Earlier, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with experts at Stanford to brainstorm for their new brand and organization. The royal pair are also expected to meet with Hollywood executives for potential deals in producing shows.
