Sometimes the most hilarious moments in K-pop have some truly interesting backstories. This was proven by SEVENTEEN's Dino when he revealed the truth about a funny incident in the latest episode of Going Seventeen 2020. In the episode, both Lee Chan and Wonwoo pursued Vernon to become their partner although they were already a "couple." Amazingly, the group's maknae admitted that the whole thing was planned.
The latest episode of Going Seventeen 2020 was titled 'SeungKwan Boo's Past Life Destiny #1' and featured Seungkwan as the host of the new set of games. In the episode, the members of SEVENTEEN had to pair up in preparation of a new challenge. However, the pairing had to be made when one member chose a fellow idol who wants to be their partner.
First, each member of SEVENTEEN would be introduced through a dance number that would allow them to impress a possible partner. Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Vernon, and Dino each had a few minutes to dance. Then it was time to create the couples. To do so, one member would be asked to sit in the middle as the idols who wanted to be their partner approached them in hopes of being chosen.
Dino was the first SEVENTEEN member to be asked to sit in the middle and Wonwoo was the only one to approach him. However, Lee Chan was actually expecting Joshua to be his possible partner. Nevertheless, the maknae accepted Jeon Wonwoo and Seungkwan declared them as the first couple. However, things changed when it was Vernon's time to sit in the middle.
Interestingly, both Dino and Wonwoo approached Vernon in hopes to be chosen as his partner. Lee Chan reasoned that he felt Jeon Wonwoo was too picky and wanted to have a new partner. Ultimately, Hansol Chwe chose Dino. This would leave Wonwoo without a partner.
So what exactly happened here? In his recent VLive, Dino revealed that it was all Wonwoo's idea. Lee Chan explained that when it was Vernon's turn to sit in front, Jeon Wonwoo had whispered to him that they should both go as "it will be fun." Needless to say, the rapper wasn't wrong about that.
