When OnePlus entered the smartphone industry a few years ago, it was known for its flagship killer smartphones. It appears that the Chinese tech company is reasserting this claim in its upcoming OnePlus 8 series phones. Here is what we know so far about the OnePlus 8 smartphone lineup.

Release Window

OnePlus traditionally launches its flagship products in May. But, new reports claim that the Chinese smartphone maker might introduce its next-generation flagship phones earlier than usual. Reliable tech and gadget sleuth Ishan Agarwal recently shared on his Twitter account that the OnePlus 8 series would arrive on Apr. 14, 2020.

If the latest information pans out, it is the first time that the company launches its smartphone series in April. The tipster also shares that the OnePlus 8 series would begin shipping in Jul. 2020.

Retail Prices

Earlier leaks suggested that the OnePlus 8 series would come in three models. These are the OnePlus 8 Lite, the standard OnePlus, and the OnePlus 8 Pro. Aside from the release window, the tipster also shared the retail prices of the upcoming smartphones.

The OnePlus 8 Lite is the most affordable model that would retail at around $513. The standard OnePlus 8, according to Agarwal, it would retail between $550 and $600. Meanwhile, the more expensive model, which is the OnePlus 8 Pro, would retail between $600 and $650.

Specs and Features

Earlier reports claimed that the OnePlus 8 Lite would house a Mediatek SoC with Dimensity 1000, which is 5G-capable. It is also believed to feature 8GB of RAM and would be available in 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. As for its physical features, the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 GHz.

The more affordable OnePlus 8 model is also rumored to feature a fingerprint sensor for added security. As to its camera configuration, it is anticipated to house three cameras at the back. It would be reportedly composed of a 48 MP, 16 MP, and 12 MP shooters.

The OnePlus 8 Lite could feature a 4,000 mAH battery pack that could support 30W warp charging. It is also anticipated to run on Android 10. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro models are anticipated to house Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and a much higher display refresh rate of 120 Hz.

It is worth noting that while the tipster has a good record of accurate leaks, these details are not yet confirmed by OnePlus. In this case, we suggest taking this information with a good measure of salt.
