Samsung last month unveiled its flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S20, at its Unpacked event. The series boasts of its advanced features and camera prowess. New leaked hands-on images of the Huawei P40, however, could threaten the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S20 series.

Leaked Huawei P40 Images

Chinese tech and telecom giant Huawei earlier confirmed that it plans to unveil the Huawei P40 on Mar officially. 2020. Tech site Digital Trends recently managed to get its hands on the prototype of the upcoming smartphone. Although the site was not allowed to show the screen or try the phone's camera and software, this is the first time that we get a glimpse of the upcoming device from Huawei.

The first thing that anyone would notice on the images of the alleged Huawei P40 is the names Polarie and Blink. Instead of the usual Leica lens that consumers saw on most Huawei phones, this one seemingly sports lenses from Blink. On the top left corner of the back of the prototype is the vertically arranged camera sensors with a smaller sensor on the side.

It could be the primary, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses of the Huawei P40 that might feature a Time of flight sensor. Earlier reports claimed that these cameras would be the 52 MP, 40 MP, and 8MP for the telephoto shooter. Compared to its predecessor, the prototype shows more rounded corners, perhaps for extra user's comfort.

The bottom houses the USB-C port, but it does not show a headphone jack, which the Huawei P30 has. The images also reveal a much thicker Huawei P40, which could mean it has a bigger battery that could offer more extended hours of use. It might also feature a curved or waterfall display but maybe not as pronounced as that seen on the Mate 30 Pro.

Other Details

At this point, the hands-on images shared by Digital Trends reveal the prototype of the Huawei Mate p40. It means that there could be changes in the design or overall look of the device when it officially launches on Mar. 26, 2020. Also, Huawei and the US government has not yet resolved the blacklisting of the company.

It means that the Huawei P40 could release without the Google Mobile Services apps. We don't know yet if the Chinese tech giant would equip the upcoming device with its own apps at launch. The company is reportedly testing its Huawei Search app in place for Google Search.
