Prince Andrew announced late last year that he would be stepping down from his royal duties following a scandalous interview with BBC Newsnight. The Duke of York’s name was dragged into Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal, and many believed the main reason behind his withdrawal was to save the royal family from more embarrassment.

Now, a royal author claimed that Prince Andrew showed “remarkable stupidity” for even thinking about doing the interview, talking about his relationship with the convicted sex offender. Ingrid Seward commented on the Duke of York’s BBC stint last year and his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein on a Channel 5 documentary, Royals: A Family in Crisis.

“He has still not been convicted of any crime. We cannot say he is criminal,” she said. “This is ruining his life. This is clouding everything he does. So he decides, with remarkable stupidity, to give an interview to Newsnight and put his case forward. He said some crazy things. He said, ’I was in a Pizza Express, I don’t sweat’. You could not make it up!”

Prince Andrew had denied the claims multiple times, stating that he was not involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal. He also noted that he had no idea that Epstein was abusing women. However, the FBI needs to investigate everyone linked to the case and, unfortunately, for the prince, the victim mentioned his name.

Authorities are still trying to identify more of his victims and Prince Andrew’s link to Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal. “The US investigation is focusing on several potential victims in the hope that they can provide more details about Prince Andrew and his connection to the Epstein case,” a source from the Department of Justice, which oversees the FBI, told the Times.

The case still has a long way to go, but the most shocking speculation of all is that many claimed the billionaire is not even dead at all. Many believed that his death was faked and that a high and powerful person, presumably Prince Andrew and even Bill and Hillary Clinton, helped him get away with it.

Meanwhile, despite Prince Andrew’s resignation, a report revealed that he is still entitled to an important position in the government. However, the Duke of York could only wield royal power if Queen Elizabeth becomes unwell or unable to fulfill her duties as a monarch.
