Prince William and Kate Middleton got reunited with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey on Monday. It was the first time that the two royal couples met again after the Remembrance Day services in November. As the two brothers seemed to smiled at each other, did the Duchess of Cambridge snub the Duchess of Sussex?
In order of precedence, the Sussexes first arrived before the Cambridges. Unlike in the previous years, the pairs didn't join the royal procession and were escorted instead to their seats, Hello! Magazine noted.
As Prince William and his wife sat down in the front row, Meghan Markle could be seen saying "hi" and giving them a small wave. Prince Harry also smiled at his older brother, who also acknowledged their presence.
However, it seemed like Kate Middleton didn't notice her sister-in-law's greetings, but the camera also caught her smile. Anyhow, Hello! Magazine noted that they already exchanged greetings even before the service began.
At the event, Meghan Markle stunned everyone with her green caped dress by Emilia Wickstead, paired with a matching hat by William Chambers. Prince Harry also impressed the public with her dapper look, donning a suit with a lining that matched his wife's ensemble.
Kate Middleton was equally stunning when she donned her recycled burgundy Catherine Walker coat and paired it with a hat by Sally-Ann Provan. Prince William also wore a suit with a tie that complemented his spouse's look.
Aside from the former Fab Four, they the event was also graced by Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and, of course, Queen Elizabeth II. Alexandra Burge and Craig David entertained everyone with their performances, while boxing champion Anthony Joshua delivered a reflection.
Other guests at the Commonwealth Day Service were Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the Commonwealth Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and dignitaries. Senior politicians from across the U.K. and the Commonwealth were also there, along with faith leaders, and over 800 schoolchildren and young people.
The event would be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's last scheduled royal engagement before they officially step down as senior royals on March 31. In the past week, they completed the final stretch of their royal duties by attending the Endeavour Fund Awards and the Mountbatten Festival of Music together. The former Suits star also made a surprise appearance at the Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham, East London, for the International Women's Day.
