Piers Morgan is known for his rude comments and controversial statements. He is also infamous for his blunt opinions towards celebrities and public figures. And one of the people that he likes to criticize a lot is Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle recently posted a candid photo of herself on Instagram to mark International Women’s Day. The black and white snap was taken from her visit to the Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham. It showed the Duchess of Sussex greeting the students at the assembly, who were clearly very excited to meet her.

Piers Morgan had always called out Meghan Markle for being full of herself. So after seeing the photo of Prince Harry’s wife with fans during Women’s Day, he felt the need to say something about it in the most sarcastic way possible.

“Meghan just posted this photo of herself on her Instagram. Her humility is… humbling,” the Good Morning Britain host posted on Twitter.

Supporters of Meghan Markle quickly defended the Duchess. They stated that there was nothing wrong with the picture. Some even believe that this was a good image to encourage young girls.

“Aside from them taking control of the images they post on their site, all I can see is teenage girls admiring a successful happy woman who is encouraging their potential. It’s a damn sight healthier than most things teenage girls are encouraged to admire or aspire to,” LBC radio broadcaster Selagh Fogarty said. “You admire it deep down. And envy it. Let's be honest...You could NEVER have the same rapport with our next generation. Nothing to undermine here apart for your attempt to undermine,” former England football player Enoila Aluko shared.

However, there were also people who agreed with Piers Morgan. Some believed that the Duchess of Sussex is a “shameless self-promoter.”

“Only Markle could make today all about herself!” one royal fan wrote. “It’s international MEGHAN day for her!” another one commented.

Meanwhile, a study revealed that Meghan Markle has more critics online than Donald Trump, who is one of the most disliked US Presidents in history, and the Duchess of Sussex number one critic — Piers Morgan.

The study analyzed 500,000 recent negative tweets about celebrities and public figures. Piers Morgan got the fourth spot, while Donald Trump was sixth. With 53 percent negative tweets, Meghan Markle sits third on the list.
