Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will officially step down as senior royals on March 31. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex don't have any more royal engagement lined up.
The couple is currently residing in Canada with their son Archie, but they returned to the UK to complete their last engagements as senior royals. Now, a royal expert claims that Meghan Markle looked really happy that their royal life is finally coming to an end while Prince Harry appeared to be questioning their decision.
“It was looking very difficult for Harry. But Meghan looked very, very relaxed as she has done for the last few days in these last final engagements,” Phil Dampier said. “She looks happy as Larry. I suppose she could be happy because she got what she wants… At the moment, I reckon Harry probably was thinking, ‘what have I done?’”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also recently attended the Mountbatten Music Festival, where fans noticed that the Duke of Sussex appeared to be sad. While the couple looked like the image of pure bliss on the red carpet, they showed a contrast image while they were inside the car.
“He does not look like a happy man,” one Twitter user wrote. “He’s not Harry anymore that’s for sure,” another one said. “A picture says a thousand words,” one added, “This is not the Prince Harry we knew,” one fan commented.
A body language expert tried to analyze the whole thing. Judi James claimed that the photo showed a deeper meaning than just the Duke of Sussex looking sad.
“Harry’s smile has vanished here, to be replaced by a very distant, reflective and rather sorrowful looking eye expression,” she said. “It looks eerily similar to the facial expression his mother Diana showed us from the car window once her own rejection from the Royal Family looked inevitable. It emphasizes the fact that, despite all his upbeat grinning poses, his move away from his family and all his ties in the UK is not something that he is doing either easily or without some sadness.”
Meanwhile, a previous report revealed that Queen Elizabeth was not too happy with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s withdrawal as the Royal Family would want to spend time with them, especially baby Archie. However, Her Majesty respects their decision and assures them that they are always welcome to the family.
