Kate Middleton was reportedly feeling "sad" as the official royal exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is fast approaching. As announced, the Sussex couple will cease to use their HRH titles starting on March 31 as they start to live their lives "financially independent."

The British Royal Family members got reunited with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex earlier this week during the Commonwealth Day service in Westminster Abbey. While Prince Harry has stayed in the United Kingdom after their final engagement, his wife has now returned to Canada to be with Archie Harrison.

According to Vanity Fair, the couple's final rounds of royal engagements seemingly became "emotional." Meghan Markle even reportedly "shed a tear" when she bid her final goodbyes to their royal aides and staff. But, outside the Sussex household, sources claimed that this royal exit of theirs also made Kate Middleton feel "sad."

As seen on photos and clips of the Monday's engagement, there was little to no interaction between the Sussexes and the Cambridges. This led to many reports to conclude that things were quite "awkward" between the royal couples.

Although many were convinced that the awkwardness among the so-called royal "Fab Four" was very visible, royal experts and commentators reportedly claimed that it was a very "difficult" moment for them all, especially on Kate Middleton's side. As stated, she likely took Megxit "badly."

A royal source also shared that the Duchess of Cambridge is possibly missing the times that she and Prince Harry, along with Prince William were always together, be it an official engagement or not. They were all once used to be a "happy trio," the source added.

In a similar scoop released by the Daily Mail, it was said that royal expert, Katie Nicholl was able to get statements from royal sources who are close to the Sussexes. Based on assertions, their royal exit has been taken "badly" by almost everyone in the British Royal Family. It was all "emotional" as things have not been quite easy for everyone, the source shared.

Despite all the current challenges, the publication said that Kate Middleton was photographed to still offer a "cursory, terse" greeting to the Sussex couple. While it was "at best polite," it was also at worst, "downright awkward."

Apart from this quick "hello," no further interaction was seen between the Cambridges and the Sussexes. Even so, other sources reportedly revealed that Kate Middleton has been meaning to talk to her brother-in-law again as "she misses him."
