Seeing and hearing unfortunate situations is a part of Kate Midleton's obligation as the wife of Prince William. But since she has been a part of the Royal family for almost a decade, it is safe to say that she is used to completing these Royal engagements.

While Kate Middleton, most of the time, manages to keep her composure, one engagement left her with “tears in her eyes” when she was visiting East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH). The unearthed 2014 report revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge couldn’t contain her emotions after learning about a mother’s loss.

“Kate was particularly touched by one woman’s story, Leigh Smith, who lost her three-month-old baby from a rare heart condition,” the article read. “Leigh had sent the Duchess a letter about her late baby Beatrice and had received a personal reply from the royal. Baby Beatrice spent her final days at the Quidenham hospice which EACH replaced with a new facility called The Nook… Throwing her arms around Leigh, Kate called the 33-year-old physiotherapist a ‘brave lady’ when she met her in person at the launch event.”

Leigh Smith also shared her encounter with Kate Middleton. She revealed that they were both emotional at the time.

“Kate sought me out and gave me a hug just before she left,” she told Hello!  “I was getting quite teary-eyed, she had tears in her eyes, and she just said to me, ‘You’re a very brave lady and again, I’m just so, so sorry.’”

Kate Middleton became a patron of EACH back in January 2012. In a speech, the Duchess of Cambridge shared how happy she was to be a part of the organization.

“I have been fortunate to meet with a number of families receiving services from EACH,” she said. “Hearing how much EACH’s support means to them reminds me of what a wonderful organization it is. I am enormously proud to be their patron.”

It’s no secret that Kate Middleton has always been passionate about children, not only because she is a mother, but she genuinely wants nothing but the best for the young ones. That being said, experts believe that the wife of Prince William could become the world’s most influential advocate on emotional subject.

“The Duchess has worked quietly away in the background for years. And now she knows that people want to hear from her,” the source said. “It's much easier to speak out when you know what you're talking about and passionate about your subject. She has become an expert in early years learning, she understands the science and is respected in the sector because she has spent the past eight years working it out. But she also wants to find answers. This is about evidence-based research."
