Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are undoubtedly two of the most fashionable members of the Royal family. Before they married their Royal husbands, the Duchess of Cambridge used to model and Meghan Markle was an actress so they were exposed to the fashion world for a long time.
Since they are now a part of the Royal family, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle need to wear outfits that are proper for Royal engagements. Despite some restrictions, the pair manages to put their style and personality into their wardrobe.
Ever since Kate Middleton dated and married Prince William, she was quickly called a fashion icon. The Duchess of Cambridge is beautiful, tall, with a modelesque figure, so everything she wears looks good on her.
However, a fashion search platform Lyst’s 2019 Year in Fashion Report revealed that Meghan Markle was the Internet’s most looked up “influencer” in 2019. The study shared that after her marriage to Prince Harry in 2017 until last year, there was an average of 216 percent increase in demand for the outfits she wore. Kate Middleton, on the other hand, only drove 119 percent average increase.
But after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced back in January that they will be stepping down as senior royals, the interest in the Duchess of Sussex’s fashion significantly dropped to an average of 31 percent. As for Kate Middleton, the average increase in searches for the outfits she wore went up to 159 percent. (Check out the whole study here).
Also, it is worth noting that what people love most about Kate Middleton's fashion is that she wears affordable brands despite her Royal status, making her very relatable. In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge has been dubbed as the “Queen of normal.” Ever since she joined the royal family almost a decade ago, people have noticed that the she has not forgotten her roots.
It is public knowledge that Kate Middleton was born a commoner. In 2011, she married Prince William, and they were given the title Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Despite that, the mother-of-three is still known for doing normal things. In fact, she can seamlessly switch from royal to normal.
With a net worth of $10 million, Kate Middleton can afford anything she wants. But Prince William’s wife is quite frugal and has been spotted buying bargains during her trip at the grocery store.
Also, being royal means you have a lot of people under you who can do things for you, but Kate Middleton doesn’t always grab this opportunity especially when it comes to her children. In 2018, she was spotted stuck in traffic on her way to pick Prince George up from school. The shocking part? She didn’t have a chauffeur with her and was driving her Range Rover herself
